Louisianna Museum of Modern Art:
45 minutes north on the coast-line train to Humlebaek; one of the best modern art museums in Europe with unique architecture incorporating the buildings into the landscape with sculpture park on the cliff overlooking Sweden: one of the best collections of American contemporary art outside the USA...don't miss the enormous Giacometti figures...featured exhibition: "Stardust"
photographs by New York photographer, Annie Leibowitz (60kr.
admission).

The Danish National Museum's "FrilandsMuseet":
17th
thru late 19th century buildings with full furnished interiors reconstructed
from all over Denmark laid out in natural setting, livestock included with
the adjoining small town of Brede, a preserved industrial 19th clothmill
(joint admission.- 40
kr.) take either the B
or B+ trains from main station to Sorgenfri, short walk from station, or bus
#184 from Norreport Station.

Klampenborg:
The
Royal Forest & King's baroque "hunting lodge" palace and the
Ordrupgaard Collection- major collection of French Impressionist &
Post-Impressionist masterpieces, Danish Golden Age & Impressionist
paintings...15 minutes by "C" train to Klampenborg and 10
additional minutes to Ordrupgaard Collection via bus #388 from
Klampenborg Station (admission 25 kr.).

Roskilde:
See
one of the great medieval cathedrals-1000 years old and the second largest
church in the Northern Europe...tombs of 38 Danish Kings & Queens over
(admission 12 kr.) ...see
the 5 surviving Viking long boats housed in The Viking Ship Museum on the
shore of the Roskilde fjord, featured exhibition: "The Vikings in
Ireland" one of the long boats
salvaged from the
fjord was built in and sailed from Ireland (admission 52 kr.)...22 minutes
by train, frequent service.

Ride over the new Oresund Bridge to Malmo, Sweden :
via
train from Copenhagen's ÓHovedbanegaardenÓ (main train station).
Check out Malmo's "Form Design Center"- the only design center in Sweden housed in a restored warehouse at Lilla Torg.
Extensive collection of furniture and other Scandinavian items..Round-trip fare from Copenhagen to Malmo is 120 kr., groups of 8 or more get a 20% discount...trains depart every 20 minutes (16/36/56 past the hour).
6) Frederiksborg Castle
& Museum :
one of the great baroque palaces of Europe with recently restored 17thc formal gardens, many treasures, national portrait collection (admission 45 kr.). A or E trian to Hillerod.

Kronborg Castle (Hamlet's Castle) :
16thc
fortress palace with Rennaissance banqueting hall, rich history (admission
30 kr.) coast train from Copenhagen's main train station (four stops after
"Louisianna").
8) Spend a day on the island of FYN (pronounced fooon spoken very quickly ) :
Visiting
the city of Odense, birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen and The Museum of
Fotokunst - Take a side trip to the quaint fishing port of Faaborg, one hour
away (local bus or train), to see the work of the reknown "Fyn born"
school of painters, sculptors, writers (Johannes Jensen won the Nobel Prize
for Literature!) and furniture designers at the Faaborg Museum in this
beautifully preserved village of Danish architecture dating back 500 years...1.5
hours by train from Copenhagen's main train station.
